A Dangerous Turn
Candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary proclaimed himself the winner of the election

Candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who only days ago called for calm and respect for institutional order, has now reversed his position and proclaimed himself the winner of the election — without any official confirmation from Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) or the Constitutional Council.
This abrupt shift places Tchiroma squarely among those seeking to destabilize the Republic for selfish political gain. It confirms what Cameroonians have long suspected: that some political figures speak the language of peace only when it suits their ambition, and the language of chaos when the truth of the ballot does not favor them.
The CamVox Times strongly condemns this new attempt to subvert the democratic process. Mr. Tchiroma’s declaration is not only unconstitutional but also incendiary, inviting unrest and uncertainty at a time when Cameroon needs restraint, responsibility, and respect for due process.
This pattern of post‑electoral manipulation is now clearly orchestrated by multiple actors whose shared objective is to weaken the state, confuse the public, and erode trust in national institutions. Among these are:
• Leaders of Ambazonia terrorist organizations, both in the diaspora and in foreign prisons, who dream of exploiting any national crisis to advance their separatist agenda and secure political relevance.
• Former and current state officials under investigation for corruption and embezzlement, who believe that political instability could shield them from prosecution and accountability.
• Diaspora influencers, disinformation propagandists, and social‑media agitators, who monetize fake news, fuel division, and fan hatred under the guise of activism.
• Foreign-funded pressure groups and NGOs that profit from chaos, pushing hidden agendas that undermine African sovereignty and national independence.
• Local opportunists and pseudo‑journalists whose allegiance is not to truth or country, but to the highest bidder in the political marketplace.
• And now, Issa Tchiroma Bakary himself — a man who once preached republican virtue but now joins the ranks of those undermining the Republic, attempting to delegitimize its lawful institutions and incite unrest through reckless proclamations of personal victory.
These actors, whether driven by ambition, fear, or external influence, share one aim: to plunge Cameroon into uncertainty. They must be resisted by all peace‑loving citizens and exposed before their actions translate into irreversible harm.
The CamVox Times calls upon the Cameroonian people, civil society, and the international community to remain vigilant and united in defense of constitutional order. Only the competent authorities — ELECAM and the Constitutional Council — have the legal power to announce election results. Every other voice is noise; every other claim is sabotage.
History will not absolve those who attempt to burn their country for the ashes of political ambition. Cameroon belongs to its citizens, not to opportunists or saboteurs. It is time for the nation to stand firm, reject manipulation, and protect peace.
